Two Awesome Lois Lane Clips

So, I have already submitted one offering to the celebration going on right now at Fuck Yeah! Lois Lane, and I wanted to share with you what exactly I posted. I also want to offer something special – just for you. So I am adding in an extra clip. One I didn’t post on their blog. Both are great Lois Lane moments and SHOULD be watched. So, watch it already!

Superman Doomsday Clip: Lois Reaches Out to Ma Kent

This has gotta be my favorite Lois moment EVER!!!! It is one of the many reasons why I prefer “Superman: Doomsday” over it’s source material (the Death of Superman & it’s related comics). As far as I can remember, there is no moment like this in the source material. Then again, there doesn’t need to be – in the comics, Clark has already come out to Lois and they were about to be married before he died. She was already part of the family. So, Ma Kent wasn’t hostile to Lois. She didn’t need to beg. So, this scene simply doesn’t exist in the comics.

Which is great for us, for it presents a completely new moment. One where Lois is alone and vulnerable. Where you get to see what is under that armor of hers. I still get teary-eyed every time I see it. I bet you did too . . .

Justice League Doom Clip: Life Saving Surgery

Sadly, in this movie Lois’s role is pretty minor. Then again, it’s about Batman and the Justice League as whole so it makes sense. Still, if you watch it you’ll find a couple of great Lois Lane moments. Lois called in her husband to deal with a jumper on the Daily Planet Building. The jumper turned out to be Metallo who shot Superman with a Kryptonite bullet. With Superman down, the Justice League tries to save his life.

This scene is great because, again, you see Lois Lane with her armor down. She even begs Cyborg to save his life. She never leaves Clark, she stays with him no matter what happens. All while still maintaining the guise that they are not married. Which had to be killing her!!!! I bet the thing she wanted to do most when he got up was kiss him. But she held back.

I also like the way she looks and sounds. Unlike Superman: Doomsday, I like the art a lot more here. She doesn’t look anorexic and she has a hint of what her character used to look like. I still prefer overall the look and feel of Lois back in the 30s over modern appearances. It just fits the character better. Its not to say that there aren’t several Lois looks that I like from the last 20 years – it’s just I prefer the old look. I like that she has some meat on her bones and wasn”t necessarily a super-model. That was never Lois. It’s part of what makes her so awesome and what I would like them to remember.

Make sure to go over to Fuck Yeah! Lois Lane and check out what has been submitted to the celebration.
